How is pet cremation done?

Pet cremation can be done either in a standard crematory or a special pet crematory. The pet’s body is placed inside a cremation chamber with a temperature of 1,400 to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. Cremating smaller animals such as birds, hamsters, rabbits, and rodents take only about 30 minutes to 45 minutes while cremating larger animals like horses may take hours. Additional expenses may also be incurred with longer cremation hours. However, a rough estimate time for cremating animals is 45 minutes to 2 hours. Other metal objects are removed once the body has transformed to ashes. The pet remains are then ground into fine powder (often pale white in color, but may also depend on the animal’s health condition) and placed in a plastic bag, box, or any other suitable container and sent back to the owner.
PRIVATE VS COMMUNAL CREMATION

Pet owners also have the option of having a private or communal cremation for their pets. In a private cremation (also known as individual cremation), the pet’s body is cremated solely inside the cremation chamber. This practice is a more expensive alternative. If the pet owner has decided on a communal cremation, the pet’s body will be cremated along with other animal bodies as well. They can also choose a communal but partitioned cremation, wherein the pet’s body is separated from the bodies of other dead animals through bricks or any other physical barrier. When the pet cremation process is finished, the cremating facility will have the ashes sent back to the pet owner. A certificate of cremation indicating the pet’s name, the owner/s name, the name and address of the crematory, the date of cremation, the type of cremation (private or communal cremation), and the cremation ID number will also be submitted to the pet owner.

Changing pet ashes to diamonds also goes through another purification process, which is done by hand. The second step to turn pet ashes into diamonds is by placing a diamond seed in the inner core cube of the press and exposing the pet ashes into a high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) environment. This imitates the process of creating natural diamonds from the Earth’s mantle. The temperature can reach 2,000 degrees Celsius or more and will result to the dissolving of the catalyst metal. This molten catalyst metal will melt the carbon source and is transferred to the small diamond seed. This will be followed by the crystallization process, and will then produce a raw, memorial diamond.
These memorial diamonds will undergo the last step, known as the cutting and polishing stage. When these cremation diamonds are removed from the press, EverDear™’s experts will design the crosswork, which is also known as the placing of the main facets on memorial diamonds. This process can help ensure that cremation diamonds possess high clarity, maximum weight, and the best angles, depending on the diamond’s shape. We use the round cut to bring out the brilliant facets of our diamonds. After the initial crosswork is finished, smoothing the facets of the memorial diamond will be done. Then, the final facets are also polished into the diamond. These facets are called the stars, top, and bottom halves.
